About Rainier Soapworks and our products

Nestled in the foothills of beautiful Mt. Rainier in Washington State you will find Rainier Soapworks. If you're visiting our site, you may have used handcrafted soaps before. You already know the incredible lather, bubbles and skin moisturization that you can get from REAL soap. Why is Rainier Soapworks soap better than "just any" handmade soap? Many people use luxury oils in their soaps in small concentrations - for instance 3% of the total ingredients is quite common. These nourishing oils from around the world are downright expensive, and it's a way of cutting costs. At Rainier Soapworks, we believe that if a little bit is good, a WHOLE LOT is much better! In many of our recipes, we use in excess of 33% of the most pure, natural and very expensive luxury oils like Shea Butter and Kukui Nut Oil from around the world!  We make many all-vegetable soaps for those that don't like to use animal products, and we NEVER use peanut oil or mineral oil. PLEASE be aware that mineral oil is a byproduct of gasoline refining and should never be used on the skin. It is a known carcinogen! Read labels always for things you put on your skin. Nothing goes into our soaps that I wouldn't use on my own children. All of our products are tested by family and friends - never animals. What does this give you for your money? An incredible bar of soap that will lather, bubble and moisturize your skin like no other, while lasting longer than soaps that are commercially made and without the harmful and potentially harmful cheap fillers!

Maybe you have come to our site interested in handcrafted soaps, but you have little experience with them yet. Let's compare a luxurious bar of handcrafted soap to the poor quality, drying ingredients of a commercially made soap. First of all, remember that commercial soaps have all of their naturally occurring glycerin removed. The manufacturers sell the glycerin separately! Handmade soap retains all of it's goodness - totally moisturizing! I have repeat customers that tell me about how this soap has changed the health of their skin. Many no longer require lotions or moisturizers! Commercial soaps are manufactured with synthetic detergents and scented with inexpensive alcohol-based perfumes that dry your skin even further! Handcrafted soaps from Rainier Soapworks are scented with 100% pure essential oil extracts from herbs and fruits that can actually benefit your moods, health and well-being! We do sometimes use fragrance oils for scent as well, but we are very particular in choosing only the best quality oils, that are safe for you and your family. We don't use inexpensive candle fragrance oils used by other makers of handmade soaps. Our soap rinses cleanly from your skin, leaving no residue or film.

Please remember that each bar of soap is handcrafted, and slight color variations do occur. I personally love to play with color variations! I promise not to sell anything outlandish or too far off what you see in the pictures though. :) The ingredients are unchanged even if the color varies, so rest assured that the product is as described. All of our soaps are carefully weighed and labeled with their ingredients. We shrink wrap each bar to keep it fresh
